Olleh!
I'm 汪熙宸—Xichen Wang, Sissi Wang, issiS Wang, ISsiS WanG, sississi Wang, SisSisSissI WaNG, Sis@(%SisSissI Wa/?.
Nice to meet you! I’m from a warm little urban village in Shenzhen, southern China. I’m 100% human; I adore mint chocolate ice cream in waffle cones; and I love art that carries warmth (though it’s not the kind of warmth you can measure with a thermometer). I’m a pro at escape rooms, though I’m not into Sudoku. But since my grandma loves it, I’ve decided to love it with her. I also really like a poem by physicist Richard Feynman, though I can’t quite recall its name.
I’m left-handed, and I’m an anti-ableist. I believe every unique brain should be seen and respected. I love both NMR spectroscopy and heavy metal music, even though they seem like things that are mutually exclusive.
If you like ice cream too, email me! Let’s grab a McFlurry sometime. 🍦
I’m really into games. Whether it’s optimizing protein folds in Foldit, racking up 112 crowns in Super Mario, fumbling my way through Wordle, or getting lost in the sweet scents of Cooking Mama and Cake Sort(too many ads, won't recommend), I love it all. Every time I play, I can’t help but wonder—what makes a game fun? How does it manage to teach and entertain at the same time? I always find myself paying attention to those little details.
I’m obsessed with design. Do you like paper books? Every time I read, I mentally redesign the cover layout. I also organize breakfast courses in a specific order to see how it impacts the taste experience. I designed mugs to have magnetic, movable handles so left-handers like me could finally enjoy the printed quotes properly. My ultimate design goal? Compassionate structures. I believe poets and designers are essential in helping us thrive in a three-dimensional world, making sure we don’t get frustrated by not understanding higher dimensions or fully mastering the first and second ones. Our lifestyle reflects design ideology, and I hope to create structures that embrace all kinds of differences. I love humanity, I love this world, and this belief deepens my love for design.
I believe everything in this world is deeply interconnected. In fact, I think that in the beginning, all knowledge was just a chaotic whole. It’s because of our limited ability to comprehend its full scope that humans started nibbling away from different angles, forcing the creation of distinct “disciplines” to make it easier to learn. But I think all knowledge has the potential to reunify—though human might not have the mental energy to achieve that right now. Still, I live with the courage to think in a divergent way.
What’s that? You say The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything... is 42?
Maybe so!

Art
2nd Language & 4th Dimension
When a point moves, it becomes a line. A moving line forms a surface, and shifting surfaces create volume. When space moves, it turns into infinity.
By shifting space, I want to extend time and emotions infinitely in a confined space. Language in our world is mostly two-dimensional, leaving room for my art to expand. While engaging in my installation works, I relate much more to dyslexics in ways beyond verbal language. I’d like movement in my artwork to give rise to conversations across language, time, and space when language is no longer the only or even best vessel for expression. I attempt to achieve this extension by designing moving components and programming the paths of light and shadow.
My inspirations come from everyday moments shared with the dyslexic community I grew up with, the tiniest stories that one day will fade but should never be forgotten. As someone once diagnosed with dyslexia and left-handed, I’ve found a mental sync with the dyslexic community. My art isn't just mine; it talks of the frustration, struggles, and isolation of a group drowned under language. It also stemmed from dyslexia’s special interpretations and decoding abilities. My experiences investigating brain mechanisms and coding helped me decompose abstract parameters and polymerize those into visuals.
Creating my art takes time, and so does experiencing it. I aim to break free from three dimensions and add a fourth—whether through movement in space, shifts in light, or installations that carry time itself, evolving with every moment of presence.
